Every donation goes directly toward giving vulnerable kittens a second chance at life. From the moment they arrive, many of our kittens need urgent veterinary care, nutritious food, and a safe, warm place to recover and grow. Your support helps cover essential medical treatments like vaccinations, parasite care, and emergency interventions for those who are sick or injured.

Beyond immediate care, donations allow us to provide a nurturing environment where kittens can socialise, build trust, and prepare for loving forever homes. We also invest in spay and neuter programs, which play a crucial role in preventing future overpopulation and reducing the number of kittens in need.

With your help, we can rescue more kittens from unsafe situations, give them the care they deserve, and match them with families who will cherish them for life. Every contribution, no matter the size, creates a real, lasting impact.

Become a foster carer

Becoming a foster carer is one of the most powerful ways you can help Rescue Kitties save lives.

By opening your home, you provide a safe, loving environment for cats and kittens who are too young, vulnerable, nervous, or unwell to cope in a rescue setting. Your care gives them the stability they need to grow stronger, build confidence, recover, and learn to trust people again.

Foster carers play a vital role in each cat’s journey. From caring for tiny kittens to supporting shy or frightened cats as they slowly come out of their shells, your time, patience, and compassion directly shape their future. You’ll also help us understand their personality, needs, and little quirks, making it easier for us to match them with the right forever home.

We provide guidance, support, and cover the cost of all food, litter, medication, and veterinary care. You provide the warmth, patience, and safe space that truly changes lives.

The only thing we ask is that you have a safe space where your foster cat can be kept separate from your own animals, and that any pets already in your home are fully vaccinated.

You also don’t need to drive to foster. We have a wonderful network of helpers around the Manchester area who can’t foster themselves but still want to help, so transport support can often be arranged where needed.

We do ask that foster carers send us weekly updates, including photographs. These updates help us follow each cat’s progress, share their journey, and give them the best possible chance of finding the right forever home.

By fostering, you’re not just helping one cat, you’re freeing up space so we can say yes to another one in need.

It’s a rewarding experience that makes a lasting difference, for them and for you.

Help us with transport

Our transport network is a huge part of what keeps Rescue Kitties running.

We rely heavily on our amazing transport helpers, who support us with collecting donations, delivering food and supplies, and taking cats to important vet appointments.

Without these helpers, many of our foster carers simply wouldn’t be able to foster. That would mean losing vital safe spaces for cats in need.

Every journey, whether it’s collecting a bag of food, dropping off litter, or helping a cat get to the vet, makes a real difference. Our transport helpers may not always be seen, but they are a vital part of every rescue story.

Cattery volunteers

We also need volunteers who can spare a few hours a week to help at our cattery in Denton.

This help is needed in the mornings, seven days a week.

Tasks include cleaning, keeping the cats’ spaces safe and comfortable, and spending time playing with them.

That little bit of human interaction makes such a difference, especially for cats who are nervous, lonely, or still learning to trust.

A few hours of your time can help keep our cats happy, healthy, and loved while they wait for their forever homes.

Page Moderation

We also need help with moderating our social media pages and groups.

We now have two groups with over 25,000 members each, as well as a page with over 4,000 followers, which we are actively trying to grow.

This means we need volunteers who can help approve posts, keep an eye on comments, answer simple questions where possible, and make sure the pages stay kind, safe, and supportive.

Our online community is a huge part of Rescue Kitties, helping us find homes, raise funds, share appeals, and reach more people who want to help cats in need.

Homechecks

We also need a dedicated team to help facilitate adoptions and home checks.

This team works virtually, meaning you can support us from home.

They are a vital part of every adoption, helping with enquiries, organising home checks, speaking with potential adopters, and making sure each cat is matched with the right home.

Adoption support may happen behind the scenes, but it plays a huge role in giving our cats the safe, loving forever homes they deserve.
